Recap: Toronto Comicon 2016

So I'm back and well-rested from last week's Toronto Comicon, and now that I am I'm getting into the swing of things by answering the backlog of emails that built up over the weekend.

I've never tabled at Toronto Comicon before, so this weekend was definitely a learning experience, and I didn't quite know what to expect. I met a bunch of lovely people working with comics and creative writing, and it was fantastic to see you all! I'll be sure to keep in touch.

I didn't pick up too many items this year, but I did grab a few. The Stowaway Debutante, by Rebecca Diem - a steampunk novel (the first in a series) - The Last Giant, by Aaron Lenk, and Concrete Martians #1, by Mitch Cook and Keith Grachow. All lovely stories, and I'd definitely recommend checking them out! You can find the links to the author's websites by clicking on their names.

Some other things of note, unrelated to Toronto Comicon:

  • The next event I'll be attending is TCAF at the Toronto Public Reference Library, from may 14-15. I am super excited about this one, and entrance is free, so I expect to see you all there.
  • My first solo comic Lotus will be premiering at TCAF. I will also have the second print run of Scrap available for purchase, which sells at $10 a pop. The last copies of my mini zines So you Want to be a Hero, All Dolled Up and Apple Darling will be available for purchase, but there are only a few copies left, and once All Dolled Up and Apple Darling are gone, they're being phased out. So get your copies while you can.
  • I have started a new sketch series called Inklings, which can be found exclusively through Twitter. You can follow me here.

That's all for now, and thanks to everyone who came out to Toronto Comicon! I hope to see everyone at TCAF.
